About

What is the BID?

The Biographical Information Domain (BID) is an open-access repository of biodata items and scales. It was created to democratize access to high-quality biodata content and its evidence base so researchers and practitioners can build better assessments faster.

Why Biodata?

Validity: Biodata inventories are highly predictive of job performance (Speer et al., 2022) and academic performance (Speer et al., 2023)

Scope: Because biodata is a method, it can target many constructs (e.g., conscientiousness, leadership, knowledge/skills). In other words, you can choose domains that match your needs.

Fairness: Meta-analytic estimates indicate small average group differences across gender, race/ethnicity, and age (Tenbrink et al., 2025).

Permissions

The items and scales are freely and publicly available, allowing anyone to use, adapt, translate, or reproduce without needing permission. Furthermore, our research team is happy to collaborate on future research projects. Feel free to contact at EMAIL ADDED ONCE PUBLISHED with inquiries.
